Xpress eyes presence in 34 provinces

Lhuillier-led ride-hailing company Xpress is in talks with a local government in North Luzon for the expansion of its network to cover 34 provinces, the company said.

On the sidelines of the launch of its electric vehicle (EV) fleet in Taguig City on Tuesday, Cliff Cabungcal, Xpress president, said the company plans to leverage on the presence of the PJ Lhuillier Group of Companies’ flagship Cebuana Lhuillier and its corporate social responsibility arm Kanegosyo Center to gain a foothold into these provinces. 

The service, launched early last year, is present in Manila, Boracay and Mindanao.

Xpress said it has a good number of fleet in its service that includes electric tricycles and cars.

Cabungcal said the company will soon include motorboats for its Boracay service. 

The company has acquired an initial 20 BYD EVs for fleet electrification program.

Cabungcal said Xpress is eyeing to have 20 percent of its fleet to be EVs moving forward.
