Cebu Landmasters Inc., expects to start work on its P20-billion Minglanilla reclamation project by the fourth quarter of this year.

The project is a joint-venture between the Minglanilla local government and Cebu Landmaster’s Ming-Mori Development Corp.

On Friday, the Minglanilla LGU signed the agreement for the project’s approval with the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA).

Cebu Landmasters will be the developer and manager of the 100-hectare land that is eyed to be Cebu’s next technohub and a regional growth center.

The reclamation project is eyed to be done in five phases.

Jose Soberano III, Cebu Landmasters chief executive officer, said the development’s proximity to Cebu City makes it “a highly viable location for light manufacturing industries especially now that the province’s main industrial parks are fully occupied.” Ming-Mori will also have its own port facilities to link it with the global economy.

For the development’s first phase, Ming-Mori eyes to put up commercial, residential and institutional zones.

The Minglanilla Techno Business Park was masterplanned by Singapore-based Surbana Jurong Consultants.
