Basic Energy Corp. adds another wind power project to its pipeline of renewable energy projects after securing a wind energy service contract (WESC) from the Department of Energy (DOE).

Basic Energy said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange yesterday the project is an onshore wind power plant in San Joaquin and Miag-ao, Iloilo and Hamtic, Antique.

The company added the WESC that was received on Wednesday has a total land area of interest of approximately 13,932 hectares covering 172 blocks with the wind plant expected to generate a capacity of at least 150 to 175 megawatts (MW) based on the preliminary study done by an independent party.
