Volkswagen Philippines is beefing up its lineup with the introduction of a subcompact sport utility vehicle (SUV) the T-Cross.
Felipe Estrella, Volkswagen Philippines president at the virtual media launch yesterday said, the introduction of the T-Cross complements its compact SUV the Tiguan to cater to different segments of the SUV-savvy market.
Estrella also said the Philippine version will be sourced from Volkswagen’s China manufacturing plant, giving the company the ability to reduce friction cost.
Reservations are being accepted at introductory prices of P1.068 million for the T-Cross 180 MPI AT S and P1.198 million for the T-Cross 180 MPI SE including a P30,000 discount until the formal launch on May 26, 2021.
Estrella said T-Cross is sold in 55 markets with cumulative sales at end 2020 at 300,000 units.
“This is one of the more flexible vehicles offered by Volkswagen with features that consumers need– space, ride comfort and safety,” he said.
