The food arm of Udenna Corp. is eyeing to expand its network of Wendy’s and Conti’s to 200 this year after doubling the number of stores in 2022.
Joey Garcia, president and chief executive officer of Eight-8-Ate Holdings, told reporters the company is poised to launch this year an American food brand which they acquired 100 percent.
Garcia said the company has expanded to food solutions to maximize its commissaries in FTI Taguig and Bacolor, Pampanga which serve the two chains.
The new business also offers packaged prepared food sold in Family Mart and Waltermart.
Garcia said Eight-8-Ate plans to grow its business to the Visayas which remains untapped.
Over the course of the pandemic, Garcia aid Eight-8-Ate continued to expand, introducing new formats like kiosks. It now has over 160 stores of Wendy’s (70 plus) and Conti’s (80) of which only 9 are franchised (Wendy’s).
