Mega Global Corp. does not expect to replicate this year its phenomenal financial performance in 2020 which was fuelled by strong demand for donations and household purchases during the lockdowns.
Marvin Tiu Lim, chief of Growth and Development Office at Mega Global, said in a press conference announcing activities for the Mega Bigay Sustansya initiative, the group has sought
for a 5-percent increase in the price of sardines following the P1-increase in the price of tin cans.
Michelle Tiu Lim-Chan, Mega Global chief executive officer, said the company is also unable to ramp up production due to the shortage in tamban, the fish ingredient in sardines.
Chan said the company is poised to bring to Luzon its fresh frozen fish products from its production facilities in Zamboanga.
The company is also introducing to Luzon consumers its corned sardines products which have gained popularity in the Visayas as an affordable option to consumers.
Mega Global yesterday announced that together with the Mega Tiu Lim Foundation, it will hold for the third year the Mega Bigay Sustansya, a health and nutrition program that aims to support 870 children from various barangays across six provinces through a 60-day nutrition program. These include Batangas, Navotas, Valenzuela, Samar, Surigao del Sur, and Zamboanga.
