Texas Instruments PH wins ‘Billionaires’ Award’ from PEZA

Global semiconductor manufacturing company Texas Instruments Philippines has garnered the “Billionaires’ Award” from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) for its outstanding export contributions to the economy in 2024.

PEZA, in a statement yesterday, said the semiconductor firm has received the award for its exports, which average $3 billion annually, for 11 consecutive times.

The agency said the “Billionaires Award” recognizes companies that export goods or services worth at least $2.5 billion annually.

PEZA Director General Tereso Panga presented the award to TI Vice President and Country Manager Tai-Hsang Chen during a courtesy visit at the PEZA head office on March 24.

In addition to the award, TI has been elevated to the PEZA Hall of Fame.  TI received previous awards such as Outstanding Exporter, Outstanding Community Project, and Outstanding Environmental Performance in 1999, 2000 and 2007.

Texas Instruments began local operations in 1979 through its Baguio City Export Processing Zone manufacturing facility. As of the end of 2024, it had invested over P67 billion and employed more than 3000 Filipinos.

As one of the global industry leaders in the semiconductor and electronics industry, TI focuses on emerging technologies like edge AI, real-time control, functional safety, industrial communication with new microcontrollers and processors, and expanding its programmable logic device portfolio.
