TERRA Solar Philippines Inc., which is building P200-billion solar energy projects in the country, is applying for registration with the Board of Investment.
In a notice, Terra Solar is applying as a renewable energy developer of solar energy resources to avail of the incentives under Republic Act No. 9513, otherwise known as the Renewable Energy Act of 2008.
Terra Solar is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SP New Energy Corp. (SPNEC) controlled by the MVP Group. The projects pertain to the 3,500 MWp / 2,500 MWAC Terra solar project SOLAR PROJECT with 4,500 MWh / 1,125 MW battery storage in Gapan City, General Tinio and Peñaranda in Nueva Ecija and San Miguel and Doña Remedios Trinidad in Bulacan. Once completed, Terra Solar will have the world’s largest solar farms, surpassing India’s Bhadla Solar Park and China’s Golmud Solar Park, currently the world’s largest solar farms at over 2,200 MW.
Terra Solar targets to energize these projects by 2026.
