Telecommunications companies are stepping up efforts to support communities affected by typhoons.

In a statement on Thursday, July 24, Globe announced that it continues to activate multiple Libreng Tawag and Charging (LTLC) stations in affected areas while maintaining full network operations and preparing for the initial relief distribution in Cebu.

PLDT Inc.’s subsidiary, Smart Communications, Inc., has pledged to continue assisting affected customers and communities.

“We know how critical communication is in times of crisis,” Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s chief sustainability and corporate communications officer, said.

Globe reported minimal network disruptions despite widespread power outages across Luzon.

Electricity in Metro Manila and Rizal has been fully restored, with only two sites in Meycauayan, Bulacan, remaining affected.

Most service issues stemmed from power interruptions. As of yesterday, restoration efforts were ongoing, supported by power providers and local government units.

Globe’s emergency data and call services remain available in typhoon-affected areas, including Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Manila, Parañaque, Pasay, Las Piñas, Taguig, Rizal, Pateros, San Juan, Valenzuela, Caloocan, Marikina, Pasig, Quezon City, and Tarlac.

Meanwhile, Smart reactivated its Crisis Hotline (+63288457799), offering support to individuals trying to reconnect with loved ones or access emergency updates.

Originally launched during the recent Israel–Iran conflict, the hotline now also serves during natural disasters.

“In times of uncertainty, people need someone they can count on. The Smart Crisis Hotline was created to be that steady voice on the other end of the line,”  Brenda Dichoso, Smart’s first vice president and head of customer experience, said. The Smart Care Crisis Toll-Free Hotline also offers connectivity troubleshooting for Smart users impacted by disasters and assistance for those unable to reach family members in the Philippines.
