Globe Telecom Inc.’s newly established AI Development and Enablement Group (AIDE) will start operating next month, focusing on strategic AI planning, development, business integration and governance.
Ernest Cu, Globe president and chief executive officer, said the establishment of AIDE will sustain the company’s competitive advantage through continuously innovating and adopting new technologies.
“We’ve begun to see AI’s impact by way of the different teams across the Globe having ongoing initiatives to take advantage of its benefits, but it is imperative that we move forward with unified intent and renewed vigor to navigate these new technological frontiers swiftly,” said Cu.
AIDE, which will formally start as a group on June 1, will spearhead Globe’s AI initiatives.
Globe has appointed cybersecurity and data privacy expert Anton Bonifacio as its first chief AI officer to lead the new group.
Bonifacio, concurrently the company’s chief information security officer, is behind some of Globe’s cutting-edge innovations in data protection and cyber defense.
“The creation of AIDE signifies a strategic investment in our technological capabilities and a concerted effort to integrate AI seamlessly into our operations,” said Bonifacio.
