Task force seizes P119M uncertified goods

Since its initial creation and launch in April , the Task Force Kalasag has seized P118.8 million worth of uncertified products and illegal vape, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Task Force Kalasag was created to ensure that the rights of consumers and legitimate businesses are protected that standards of safety and quality of essential consumer products are upheld; and that basic necessities and prime commodities are made available to consumers at reasonable prices especially during times of calamities, disasters, and emergencies.

The DTI said a total of 36,653 units of uncertified household appliances valued at P29.07 million  from the enforcement operations across regions and in the national capital region.

For only three months, the task force seized a massive haul of 311,206 units of uncertified and non-compliant products and vape units valued at P89.7 million.

The numbers are  broken down to This includes 257,206 units of uncertified products worth nearly P62 million and 54,000 seized vape units valued at P27.9 million.

Task Force Kalasag  in an operation in June 26 apprehended a 9,874  uncertified household appliances valued around P7.8 million which led to the closure of the appliance warehouse operating under the name OOKAS PH which was operating without a valid business permit.

OnJuly 3, Task Force Kalasag also swooped down on two warehouses in

Plaridel, Bulacan and seized 9,428 non-compliant items, mostly household appliances, worth P 9.3 million.

On its third enforcement operation in Tanza, Cave on July 15, the DTI Task Force Kalasag yielded a total of 14,123 units of uncertified household appliances worth P 8.3 million

The establishment was immediately issued a closure order and personally padlocked by the Municipality of Tanza due to a permit violation. The establishment’s permit only listed consumer goods, failing to declare the sale of electronics and appliances.
