Singapore-based SWAT Mobility is poised to expand its operations in the country this year.

In a virtual press briefing, Grace Ho, SWAT Mobility president, said the Philippines is the third top market outside Singapore and is expected to rank second this year.

The company looks to expand its operation in Cebu, Calabarzon and Central Luzon.

“The Philippines is an important market for SWAT Mobility. We remain optimistic that as the economy recovers and business operations resume, our mobility solutions have strong relevance in helping companies activate their workforce,” Ho said.

“In addition, we have adapted our technology for the logistics sector to deliver operational efficiencies and respond to the growing demand of e-commerce in the Philippines,” Ho added.

The smart mobility firm entered the market in May 2020 and in less than two years, it was able to hit one million rides and 13,000 monthly active riders (employees).

According to Ho, SWAT Mobility’s technology-enabled transport has been enabling companies in the essential services sector to transport workers safely to and from work during the pandemic.

As the Philippines embarks on recovery this year, Ho noted opportunities to work with companies to accelerate activating their workforce and operations.

“Over the last year, our teams have been staying close to the ground and engaging local customers and partners in deploying our technology-enabled mobility solutions to help workers commute safely back to work amid the pandemic challenges. Even when the unfortunate natural disaster hit, we were active with customers in the affected areas to explore how our technology can help with business operations recovery,” she said.

“We are optimistic about the opportunities to deploy our mobility solutions to help workers get back to work safely, particularly in the affected areas,” she added.

Meanwhile, Maria Theresa Busmente, SWAT Mobility Philippines country business head, said the company has completed 4 million rides to date, making the Philippine operations account for 25 percent.
