President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed all government agencies—and encouraged local government units (LGUs) and the private sector—to support the 2025 Philippine Creative Industries Month. The initiative aims to further promote the goods, products, and services of the Philippine creative industries, while raising awareness of their role in nation-building and socioeconomic advancement.

Malacañang, through Memorandum Circular No. 95 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on September 2, 2025, tasked the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)—as the secretariat of the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act Council (PCIDC)—to coordinate with the private sector and academe to ensure the successful celebration of the Philippine Creative Industries Month. The DTI is also directed to develop corresponding programs and activities to commemorate the event.

A copy of the memorandum was published in the Official Gazette.

Republic Act No. 11904, or the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act, declares the month of September each year as “Philippine Creative Industries Month.” The law seeks to promote the goods, products, and services of the country’s creative industries, and to highlight their contribution to nation-building and socioeconomic progress.

This year’s celebration, themed “We Are a Creative Nation,” features a variety of programs and activities designed to showcase the Filipino people’s rich cultural heritage and diverse artistic expression—with the end goal of propelling the Philippines toward becoming Asia’s Premier Creative Hub by 2030.
