The Social Security System’s (SSS) online channels are temporarily unavailable following a fire that occurred in its main office over the weekend, the pension fund said yesterday.

In a statement, SSS said its online channels including its website, SSS Mobile App and uSSSap Tayo Portal will temporarily be unavailable.

“SSS’ servers are undergoing testing in preparation for the continuation of operations through its Business Recovery Center as operations in its Main Data Center have been affected by the fire that occurred at the UPS Room located on the ground floor of its main office building in Quezon City (last Sunday), August 28, 2022,” SSS said.

SSS has assured stakeholders that all member data records were not affected by the incident.

The pension fund asked for their patience and understanding while all efforts are being made to restore the availability of its online services as soon as possible.

“In the meantime, those with urgent queries and concerns may send their messages to the SSS’ official email accounts (member_relations@sss.gov.ph, onlineserviceassistance@sss.gov.ph, prnhelpline@sss.gov.ph, ofw.relations@sss.gov.ph) and social media accounts (Facebook at Philippine Social Security System — SSS; Instagram at mysssph; Twitter at PHLSSS; YouTube at MYSSSPH; and Viber at MYSSSPH Updates),” the agency said.

SSS said it will issue a separate advisory once its online channels resume operations.

The fire broke out at 1:43 a.m. last Sunday. The building’s fire suppressant system effectively contained the spread to other areas.

By 3:35 a.m., the firefighters officially declared the fire under control. – Angela Celis
