The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) has signed a lease agreement with San Miguel Corp. (SMC) on a property owned by the former in Navotas City.
In a statement, the parties said the agreement will facilitate the construction of the Southern Access Link expressway project, in accordance to the 2022 Supplemental Toll Operation Agreement.
PFDA said the lease is for 25 years and can be renewed by mutual agreement every 25 years as the project’s primary goal is to create an efficient and direct route to the New Manila International Airport in Bulacan being developed by SMC to maximize its economic benefits to the country.
The parties did not provide detailsp.
At present, PFDA manages regional fishing ports in Bulan, Sorsogon; Sual, Pangasinan; General Santos; Davao; Zamboanga; Lucena, Quezon Province; Iloilo; and Navotas. – Jed Macapagal
