Small businesses to benefit from DOST-PCCI tech hub

THE Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) have signed an agreement to develop a Philippine Technology and Business Science, Technology, and Innovation Hub.

In a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed on the sidelines of the 50th Business Conference & Expo (PBC&E) in Paranaque City yesterday, the parties agreed to will develop a state-of-the-art facility that serves as the center for collaboration, offering incubators co-working spaces and access to research labs, enabling co-development of products and solutions among scientists and researchers, industry players, and investors.

The MOU was signed by Eunina Mangio, PCCI president and DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum.

The agreement expands the MOU signed in March 2023 formalizing the Philippine Technology Business Alliance (TechBiz Alliance) between the DOST and PCCI. The alliance encourages innovation to drive economic growth and enhance the competitiveness of Philippine industries.

The new MOU leverages science, technology, and innovation to expand the economy by providing comprehensive technical and financial support for the development of technology-based and technology-driven industries and MSMEs.
