SM Investments Corp. said its $500 million bond sale last year has been recognized as the Best Bond for Corporate in the Philippines in the Best Significant Deal category at The Asset Triple A Sustainable Finance Awards 2025.

The award follows the Philippine Capital Market Deal of the Year for 2024 award the fund raising activity also got from the International Financing Review Asia (IFR Asia).

SM Investments in a statement on Thursday said the latest award makes it even more committed to keep its market leadership underscored by “responsible and inclusive development,” solidifying its position as one of the most reputable and bankable companies in the Philippines.

SM Investments said its bond issue, a five-year corporate note, marks the largest-ever five-year issuance by a Philippine corporate that achieved the tightest-ever five-year issue spread by an unrated corporate in Southeast Asia.

“According to The Asset, the deal underscores SM Investments’ strong credit profile and the continued trust it enjoys from international investors,” it said.

“This recognition affirms the strength of our financial position and our unwavering commitment to growth,” said Erwin G Pato, SM Investments executive vice president for treasury, finance and planning.
