Establishments that have the Safety Seal certification can operate at capacities higher than what is allowed by the Inter-agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
DTI Undersecretary Ireneo Vizmonte told Konsyumer atbp on Saturday these establishments can hike by another 10-percentage points their operating capacities.
Vizmonte said companies should first make a self-assessment on their compliance to a checklist of requirements to secure the Safety Seal.
The Safety Seal certifies an establishment’s compliance to the minimum public health standards to give clients confidence to transact with such establishment, The certification program also aims to promote the use of a digital contact tracing that integrates with the national StaySafe.ph contact tracing to effectively contain the spread of the new coronavirus disease 2019.
Vizmonte said the program will help in the safe reopening of the economy.
The seals are prominently displayed in establishments for easier identification by patrons and clients.
