Aviation Partnership Philippines (Aplus), a subsidiary of Cebu Pacific Inc., yesterday inaugurated its newly- renovated hangar, just in time for the expected recovery of the aviation industry following the pandemic lockdowns that grounded the sector.

The renovation of the 3,112-square-meter hangar was completed last month. It can cater to the A320 and ATR aircraft, and is designed for the A321neo as well.

The Aplus hangar will also be used to perform the phased C-Checks, which are performed approximately every 20 to 24 months, or a specific number of actual flight hours, and require a large majority of the aircraft’s components to be inspected.

With this, Cebu Pacific will be able to optimize logistics and ferry costs, compared to sending its aircraft to Clark or to any regional maintenance, repair and overhaul, as well as other checks requiring a hangar.

“The Aplus hangar will allow for a reduced turnaround time for our existing and future airline customers,” said Rico Ugdoracion, Aplus general manager. – Myla Iglesias
