RE developer partners with bank to offer loans for residential solar rooftop installations

Local climate fintech firm Helios has partnered with Security Bank Corp. in launching a solar mortgage program to enable more Filipinos access clean and sustainable energy.

Under the memorandum of agreement signed last month, solar panels will be integrated into new or existing housing loans to help homeowners seeking relief from high utility expenses and make the technology more accessible.

Paz Gonzalez, Security Bank senior vice president and head of secured lending division, said  in a statement the partnership  also involves “a referral arrangement, wherein Helios will direct prospective clients to Security Bank for home loans inclusive of solar panels; utilization of the home equity option for solar panel acquisition; and solar mortgage to eligible clients through our top-up program.”

The parties added  under the collaboration, quality and reliability of solar panel installations are also assured with a 25-year warranty.

Helios will also provide preventive maintenance and consistent support to ensure the efficient functioning of solar facilities throughout their lifespan.
