Puregold Price Club Inc. will open eight more stores in the provinces for the rest of the year, after opening its first store in Zamboanga del Norte, in Sindangan town in June.
Vincent Co, Puregold president, in a statement, said the new stores aim at “empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in more areas across the country and supporting countryside growth.”
As of end-June, Puregold’s total store count reached 666 Puregold stores, 31 S&R membership warehouses, and 67 S&R New York Style quick-service restaurants.
In the first half of the year, Puregold opened 13 new Puregold stores on top of 153 Puremart stores, one S&R Warehouse and five new S&R quick services restaurant, a copy of its presentation materials to analysts for the first half 2025 showed.
It currently has 195 stores in Norther Luzon, 212 stores in Metro Manila, 271 stores in Southern Luzon, 65 in the Visayas and 21 in Mindanao.
Puregold closed the first half of the year with a net income of P5.3 billion, up 7.1 percent from P4.95 billion last year. Sales grew 11.6 percent, at P109.88 billion from P98.5 billion last year, attributed to the robust store expansion last year.
