Distribution utility PrimeWater San Jose del Monte is scheduled to complete a transmission line extension project from Barangay Tungkong Mangga to Barangay Gaya-Gaya Segment 1 in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan, by June 30.
The project, developed with the San Jose del Monte (SJDM) Water District, has been designed to fix delivery problems in higher elevation zones, PrimeWater said in a statement on Saturday.
Once the project is completed, its service areas will receive 16 to 24 hours of water supply, PrimeWater added.
Apart from improving the water distribution for 18,000 customers, the project will support an estimated 4,000 new service connections, the company said.
“We are upgrading both our storage and transmission systems to ensure that we will be able to supply our concessionaires sufficiently. The project is in near completion and we are optimistic that once it is completed, the significant impact will be felt by our subscribers,” the company said.
PrimeWater added that its joint venture with the Water District was able to increase water supply by 43.6 percent to 122.356 million liters per day (MLD), from 85.223 MLD before the joint venture became operational.
Prior to this project, the company built a second interconnection point in Barangay Muzon Poblacion to address the pressure imbalance and supply limitations in the city’s most densely populated area.
The latter project is now benefiting around 28,000 connections by optimizing multiple water sources in the network.
