State-owned oil, gas and coal exploration firm, PNOC Exploration Corp. (PNOC-EC) sworn in new members in its board of directors.
In a statement yesterday, PNOC-EC said new members of the board that were brought on board last Monday include a former secretary of the Department of Energy (DOE), members of the academe, as well as returning officials.
Raphael Lotilla, DOE secretary and concurrent PNOC-EC chairman, officiated the entry of new directors including Rafael Del Pilar, Zenaida Monsada, Adrian Ferdinand Sugay, Romeo Solis Jr., and Edgar Benedict Cutiongco.
PNOC-EC said that two more members of the board will be joining them soon.
Monsada previously served as an undersecretary of the DOE until promoted to helm the agency in 2015.
Meanwhile, Sugay was a former undersecretary of the Department of Justice.
Solis is a returning official for PNOC-EC who served as its operations manager from 1992 to 2002.
Cutiongco is the current president of the Philippine Petroleum Association of the Upstream Industry and a senior lecturer at the University of the Philippines National Institute of Geological Sciences.
Earlier this month, Cutiongco was also named as consultant in a technical review committee formed by the DOE. – Jed Macapagal
