Filipino sellers are among the most prolific live sellers in Southeast Asia, according to a study conducted by tech-enabled logistics company Ninja Van Philippines.

In its first-ever white paper on Live Selling in Southeast Asia, 47 percent of the respondents in the Philippines said they are doing live selling daily, against a 31 percent regional average.

About 74 percent said attracting new customers is a top driver for conducting live selling while 52 percent said this is more profitable than just posting items on marketplaces and apps.

Filipino sellers can spend up to 14 hours weekly conducting live selling sessions, versus a regional average of up to six hours. Most of the early adopters of live selling are from low-involvement product categories such as fashion, beauty and personal care, food and beverages, as well as home and living.

Shopee (27 percent), Facebook (25.5 percent), and TikTok (22.5 percent) are ranked as the top three live selling channels in the region.
