Ph secures $55.3M in sales leads at French animation festival

The Philippines generated potential sales of $55.3 after participating in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market, or the Marché International du Film d’Animation (MIFA) 2024 last June 11 to 14.

Nine world-class animation studios and filmmakers participated this year, namely Animation Vertigo Asia, Inc., J. Legaspi Computer Graphics, Kampilan Productions, Kino Arts, Inc., Leveret Group, Martinii Animation Studio, The Puppeteer Animation Studios, Inc., Toon City Animation, and Top Draw Animation.

This participation resulted in promising contracts under negotiation and potential sales that are set to be further developed.

The delegation also attended the Malaysia Business Networking event, hosted by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corp,, which facilitated the partnership between Southeast Asian partners through a Memorandum of Exchange.

As part of the Philippine Independence Day celebration, the Philippines hosted a reception and pitching event called Phili-Pitch, where five Filipino animation studios presented their projects for potential funding and co-production. The studios included Leveret Group, Animation Vertigo, Kino Arts , Puppeteer Studios and Martinii Animation Studio.
