The Philippines and Cambodia have strengthened their cooperation in digital governance to improve efficiency and innovation.
Last week, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy and Cambodia’s Minister of Post and Telecommunications Chea Vandeth presented initiatives that will modernize governance and accelerate technological cooperation between the two nations.
“This partnership is about learning from each other and pushing boundaries to fully harness technology for our people,” Uy said.
Vandeth said the Philippines-Cambodia partnership fuels rapid digital transformation, promotes the adoption of sustainable technologies and strengthens diplomatic ties.
Part of the initiatives was the status update on technology integration between the two countries, particularly on the Philippines’ eGovPH App and Cambodia’s verify.gov.kh platform.
The Philippines is considering the integration of Cambodia’s eVerify technology into verify.gov.ph, enhancing the security of National ID verification and educational credentials, such as diplomas and university certificates, DICT said.
Cambodia is taking steps to incorporate key attributes of the eGovPH App into its very own DG SuperApp, DICT added.
Designed as a centralized digital gateway, eGovPH App integrates over 900 services from local government units and 75 national agencies, streamlining public service delivery and ensuring 24/7 access to essential government transactions for more than 10 million users.
Meanwhile, Cambodia’s verify.gov.kh platform was recognized for its advanced authentication system, which ensures the integrity of critical documents.
