The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has remitted P1.389 billion in dividends to the national government for year 2024, ranking among the country’s top non-tax revenue contributors.

PEZA Director General Tereso Panga said in a statement posted on the agency’s website on Wednesday PEZA remains a “steadfast partner of the national government in raising revenues to support economic and social development.”

The remittance was formally recognized on Tuesday during the annual Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCC) Day at Malacañang, where President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Finance Secretary Ralph Recto honored top-performing government agencies.

PEZA ranked among this year’s list of 15 GOCCs that turned over more than P1 billion in annual remittance.

The agency’s contribution complies with Republic Act 7656, which mandates state-run firms to declare at least half of their net earnings as dividends to the government.

Since its establishment in 1995, PEZA has remitted more than P13 billion in total dividends, including more than P3.2 billion during the current administration.
