Philippine Airlines (PAL) has forged a partnership with Hawaiian Airlines to allow travelers from the Philippines to fly to the United States through Honolulu, Hawaii.
Through the program tie-up, passengers may take the Manila to Honolulu flight on PAL, stay at a partner hotel and take the Honolulu to Seattle flight on Hawaiian Airlines.
PAL has partnered with the Ala Moana and Holiday Inn hotels.
Currently, PAL is operating flights between Manila and Honolulu once a week every Friday.
“We hope to increase flight frequency to thrice weekly,” said Cielo Villaluna, PAL spokesperson.
Flight booking and ticketing is up to November 30, 2021. Flying period is from September 15 to November 30, 2021, and from January 1 to March 30, 2022. Passengers will be issued a single ticket indicating the passenger’s flight details on PAL and on Hawaiian Airlines.
Also in the pipeline are the Manila-Honolulu-Las Vegas, Manila-Honolulu-Phoenix and Manila-Honolulu-Portland routes, with PAL operating the first leg and Hawaiian Airlines, the second leg.
Starting this October, PAL said it is gearing up to expand its international and domestic flights in anticipation of a tourist and business travel revival, as the Philippines ramps up vaccination drives and improves travel and economic conditions nationwide.
By late October 2021, PAL plans to increase flights to San Francisco, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Guam, Singapore, Dubai, Doha, Nagoya and Fukuoka, while continuing special flights to Auckland, Vietnam and points in Australia. More flights to Honolulu and Taipei will come online by the last week of November 2021. – Myla Iglesias
