PLDT Inc. yesterday officially appointed Alfredo Panlilio as the company’s president and chief executive officer (CEO), with the mandate to continue operating the telco efficiently, innovating, and improving customer experience.
“We are now a stronger company, establishing strong revenues and EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) in the past five years as the only integrated telco across all product line. At the end of the meeting, I will discharge my final duty as president and CEO of PLDT. I asked Al (Panlilio) to succeed me in this position, my first words is to declare my support to him,” Manual Pangilinan, PLDT chairman, said at PLDT’s virtual annual stockholders meeting.
“This decision is made less difficult by the knowledge that Al and his long experience with PLDT and his competent qualities could be able to take my place without interruption and detriment to the progress that the PLDT has made. I now lay down by charge. I will continue to be your chairman… I can be at service to Al anytime, I shall not fail to help,” he added.
PLDT had been searching for a new head since Napoleon Nazareno’s retirement in 2015
