Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to fly the first of its refurbished Airbus A320ceo aircraft  featuring upgraded cabins designed for comfort.

The fleet upgrade covers 18 A321ceo aircraft, to be completed between 2025 and 2027.

Each plane will carry 194 passengers (down from 199)  in a dual-class layout – 12 in Business Class and 182 in economy.

Business Class now offers  a 2-2 seat configuration with more privacy, en, cocktail tables, and power outlets, complemented by 13.3” in-flight entertainment screens.

The economy class section will have a 3-3 layout, with 10.1” IFE screen on each seat, offering movies, music and more to keep passengers entertained throughout their journey, and like the business class seats will come with a USB-A Port outlet.

“PAL has selected the highly popular Collins Pinnacle seats for economy class, manufactured at the Collins factory in Batangas by Filipino workers leading the production of these aircraft seats,” the company, in a statement,  also said.

It added that the first aircraft to be retrofitted — RP-C9905 — will have its inaugural flight to Tokyo (Haneda) and Bali Wednesday.

The Airbus A321ceo planes are PAL’s regional workhorse across ASEAN, Greater China, Japan, South Korea, and Guam.

The reconfigured A321ceos will be utilized on flights to Tokyo (Haneda and Narita), Osaka, Jakarta, Bali and Guam this year, and to other key Asian destinations in the PAL network by next year, it said.
