Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is increasing the frequency of its flights between Manila and Seattle to five weekly flights from the current three starting November 25this year.
PAL said this is to meet growing travel demand to and from the US West Coast, to boost business activities between the countries and also to increase cargo capacity of up to 40 tons per week between Manila and Seattle in Washington. The route is also the only non-stop service and direct airline link between the Philippines and the US Pacific Northwest.
In a statement on Thursday, PAL President Richard Nuttall said Seattle is a valuable gateway to the US, not just Washington and Oregon areas. Increasing the flight frequencies also expands PAL’s global network via its ongoing partnership with Alaska Airlines.
In addition, Nutall said PAL is “focusing strongly on developing this growing market to help Americans plan their vacation trips to the Philippines and other Asian countries, to open up more opportunities for businesses to build up commercial activities, and for Filipino Americans to reunite more often with their families back in the home country.”
The additional flights will connect to various US states via interline airline and trucking partnerships, and will further support the growing trade between the US and the Philippines.
PAL will introduce an additional Tuesday and Thursday flights from Manila to Seattle, for an overall 5x weekly service operating every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Travelers gain greater flexibility to structure their travel plans, with more dates to choose from, said PAL. Meanwhile, the airline continues to offer seamless and convenient connections to its extensive network across the Philippines, Southeast Asia, North Asia, and Greater China, as well as to numerous US destinations via Alaska Airlines.
PAL and its service partner, Alaska Airlines, have a frequent flyer partnership that expands travel opportunities for loyal customers. The Alaska Airlines hub at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is recognized as the largest airline hub on the entire US West Coast.
With Seattle, PAL now serves eight destinations in the US and Canada, offering non-stop flights to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto, Honolulu and Guam.
PAL launched the Manila-Seattle route in October 2024. Seattle is the airline’s 6thdestination in the US and 8th in North America, according to the airline.
