Philippine Airlines (PAL) yesterday said it will continue to operate all-cargo flights from Manila to Hong Kong, following the two-week air passenger restriction until September 11 imposed by the Chinese territory.
PAL said in a statement the Hong Kong government confirmed that three passengers of PAL PR300 flight from Manila tested positive for the new coronavirus disease 2019 positive upon arrival at the airport on August 27.
“We reiterate that the top priority of Philippine Airlines has always been the safety and health of our passengers. We consistently comply with industry and regulatory safety protocols in the Philippines and abroad, ” PAL said.
PAL said all three passengers, two Filipinos and one Chinese national presented negative COVID-19 test results when they checked in for their flight.The tests were taken 72 hours before their flight.
PAL assured the flying public that strict safety measures are in place to protect their passengers throughout the journey on all flights.
“Our advanced cabin air flow systems ensure a protective air flow inflight, and each plane has onboard HEPA filters to cleanse cabin air from bacteria and viruses. Our cabin crew who serve and assist wear full PPEs as well as face masks and shields.” PAL said.
Every aircraft surface is also sanitized and disinfected after every flight, it added.
Passengers affected by the ban may rebook, refund or convert their ticket.
