Philippines Airlines (PAL) is increasing flight frequencies across its domestic route network this month to address the rising travel demand.
During the Laging Handa public briefing, Cielo Villaluna, PAL spokesperson, said the airline is set to increase this month the flight frequencies from Manila going to Iloilo, Bacolod, Cebu, Tagbilaran, Zamboanga, Davao and General Santos.
Flights between Manila and Iloilo will increase from nine to 14 flights weekly on December 10, while flights between Manila and Bacolod will increase from seven to 14 flights weekly effective December 16.
Flights between Manila and Cebu also increased to eight daily versus five daily flights in November.
“We have twice daily Manila-Tagbilaran-Manila flights and twice weekly Davao- Tagbilaran flights. From Iloilo, one can fly to Cebu, Davao and General Santos,” PAL said.
There are now six flights weekly from Manila to Zamboanga, while Manila to Davao increased to 28 flights weekly. Flights on the Manila to General Santos route are now at seven weekly.
PAL is also gradually reopening its Basco, Batanes route through four flights this December.
According to Villaluna, PAL has seen an improvement in average passenger load factor in both domestic and international flights, as travelers rush home to rejoin their families.
PAL’s load factor stood at 80 to 85 percent this month across all high-density routes in its domestic operation. – Myla Iglesias
