Pagcor nets P184M as of Sept.

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) has recorded a net income of P183.9 million in the first nine months of 2021, even as both revenue and expenses fell below program and year-on-year.

According to Pagcor’s latest income statement posted on its website, the gaming regulator exceeded its projected net loss of P3.25 billion by 105.66 percent, while also posting a year-on-year increase of 38.63 percent versus the net income of P132.67 million recorded in the same period last year.

Pagcor’s total income, net of gaming taxes and contributions, amounted to P12.67 billion.

The said figure is 4.01 percent below the target of P13.19 billion, and 21.21 percent lower than last year’s P16.07 billion.

Pagcor said the revenue in the nine-month period last year includes non-regular income amounting to P3.93 billion, which was gained through its sale of a lot.

Income from its gaming operations alone amounted to P22.28 billion, 16.55 percent below program and 0.21 percent down year-on-year.

Meanwhile, total expenses amounted to P12.39 billion, 24.68 percent below the target of P16.44 billion, amid lower-than-expected maintenance expenses, among others.

The amount spent by Pagcor also fell by 22.17 percent from the year ago level of P15.91 billion. – Angela Celis
