P125B ecozone to rise in Quezon

Achievement Realty Corp. (ARC) will develop Quezon Techno-Industrial Special Economic Zone (QTISEZ), the country’s biggest ecozone, in Barangays Rosario and San Jose in Mauban, Quezon for P125 billion.

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1277 dated Jan. 17, 2022 and the provisions of the Republic Act No. 7916 (Special Economic Zone Act of 1995), President Duterte has approved the creation and designation of several parcels of land in the said barangays, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said in a statement.

PEZA said QTISEZ will have its own international seaport and international airport with an estimated budget of P25 billion each from the total P125 billion cost of developing the 1,836 hectares special ecozone. It will be the first international airport and seaport to be strategically located in eastern part of Luzon.” PEZA said P75 billion will go to the development of QTISEZ which will accommodate 2,000 factories and create more 200,000 jobs.

ARC chairman Philip Cea said the company will get foreign and local investors to fund the project.
