The Board of Investments (BOI) has granted Green Lane certificates to five onshore wind energy projects with a combined value of P108 billion, all under Cleantech Global Renewables Inc. (CTGRI).
In a statement on Tuesday, the BOI said it has issued Certificates of Endorsement to representatives of CTGRI and its subsidiary, Cleantech Renewable Energy 50 Corp. The certification, in effect, expedites the permits and license approvals for these projects.
The projects are the 144 megawatts (MW) Tayabas North, at P18.29 billion; Tayabas South, at P22.9 billion; the 187.2 MW Bulacan 1, at P24.10 billion; the 237.6 MW Bulacan 2, at P28.79 billion; and the 86.4 MW Maragondon wind power project, at P13.95 billion.
According to the BOI, CTGRI’s wind power projects are expected to generate over 3,000 jobs for Filipinos.
CTGRI, a 100-percent Filipino-owned IPP and RE developer, was established in 2014 with a focus on developing a portfolio of clean energy projects, primarily in solar and wind technologies, in the Philippines, according to a project brief from the BOI.
CTGRI has an aggregate capacity of 650 MW of solar plants either in operation or under construction, it added.
The BOI said CTGRI has over 5,000 MW worth of RE projects at various stages of development.
The BOI stated that the Green Lane certification accelerates strategic investments in the renewable energy sector by streamlining permit and licensing processes.
