In line with the mandate to streamline and expedite processes, state-run National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) is set to launch an automated platform for licensing and permitting processes in the fourth quarter of the year.

The NTC said it developed the Online Processing System with Digital Payment System (OPS-DPS) in compliance with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.s’ directive to ramp up measures to digitalize government processes to ensure efficient and fast delivery of services.

The NTC recently conducted a soft launch of the OPS-DPS project.

The DPS component of the project is set to be launched in September in preparation for the rollout of the entire OPS-DPS system in October, the NTC added.

The project aims to streamline and expedite the processing and issuance of licenses, permits, certificates, authorizations and clearances for telecommunications and internet infrastructure.

During the recent OPS-DPS launch at the NTC Multi-Purpose Hall, a demo was conducted by Htech Corp., the system provider, together with representatives from Globe Telecom Inc. and NTC’s Networks & Facilities Division (NFD) of the Regulation Branch (RB) as well as its concerned delivery units on online filing/submission of application, evaluation/processing, payment of fees and issuance of a new permit to purchase.

The pilot implementation of the system will be in the Licensing Management of NFD and the Services & Interconnection Division of NTC’s RB. The services that the public may avail through the system are most of the external services of the NFD and SID, as provided in the NTC Citizen’s Charter and posted on its website.

Also at the soft launch were representatives of Converge ICT, DITO Telecommunity, Easycall, GCash, Huawei, Infinivan, Maya, PT&T and Smart-PLDT Inc.
