ABS-CBN Corp. is set to transfer its noontime show to GMA Network Inc.’s GTV channel on July 1, as it failed to renew a block time agreement with TV5 Network Inc.
ABS-CBN said “It’s Showtime” will be aired on GMA’s GTV Channel starting on July 1, from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon.
The show can also be viewed on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, IwantTFC, and TFC from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon, ABS-CBN said in a statement.
ABS-CBN said it declined TV5’s offer to move the show to the 4:30 p.m. time slot.
“‘It’s Showtime’ has brought joy and entertainment to our Madlang people here and abroad. We value the meaningful relationship we have built and nurtured with our audience in the noontime slot. It is for this reason that we respectfully declined the 4:30 pm timeslot offered by TV5 for the show,” ABS-CBN said of its show that has run for 14 years now.
Manuel Pangilinan, chairman of PLDT Inc. and Mediaquest Holdings Inc. which operates TV5, recently said TV5 has committed the noontime slot to the iconic trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon (TVJ), following their contract signing early this month.
MediaQuest group signed an agreement with TVJ, their co-hosts and creative staff for the official transfer to TV5, following their resignation from Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.) on May 31.
