Metro Pacific Investments Corp. unit Metro Pacific Water’s (MPW) proposal to build a P2.3-billion waste-to-energy (WTE) facility here is yet to receive challenges from other firms, according to the city’s top official.
Mayor Jerry Treñas told reporters in an interview over the weekend he is set to submit the company’s proposal to the city council next month.
Last June, MPW and the city government of Iloilo signed a joint certification of successful negotiation for the company’s proposed WTE project that was subjected to Swiss challenge.
Treñas said he plans to submit MPW’s proposal to the city council by November 3 as it also has been to the city’s local public-private partnership committee.
