NLEX Corp. in partnership with Leighton Contractors (Asia) Ltd. has signed an agreement to implement the second phase of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Northern Luzon Command’s (Nolcom) transient facility refurbishment project.
After completing the refurbishment of the male barracks at the Nolcom, NLEX Corp. will continue to assist the unified command in repairing the transient facility, this time for the female military personnel with Leighton Contractors as its partner.
The memorandum of agreement was recently signed by NLEX president J. Luigi Bautista, Leighton Contractors country manager and president Kits Chuidian, and Nolcom Commander Lt. Gen. Fernyl Buca, PAF.
The project, which will be undertaken by NLEX and Leighton at their own cost, involves the replacement of roof, column supports and ceiling of the facility; renovation of the lobby and entrance walkway; and installation of barracks with toilet and bath.
NLEX and Leighton target to finish the second phase of the project before the year ends.
In January, NLEX and construction firm EEI Corp. turned over to Nolcom the refurbished Phase 1 of the transient facility. – Myla Iglesias
