Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) is allocating around P1 billion in capital expenditures for its non-tollways business this year.
Rodrigo Franco, MPTC president and chief executive officer, said the capex of MPT Mobility will be used to fund the construction of one expressway standard gas station facility or motorist facilities and out-of-home advertising structures.
MPT Mobility, which was formed to elevate customer services and generate new revenue streams, houses all of MPTC’s non-toll related enterprises which are poised to be among the pacesetters of digital adoption through its digitally-driven solutions such as Dibz smart parking service group, One hub, Southbend Express Services, NLEX Drive & Dine, Easytrip Services Corp. and Spot On advertising.
The company last week launched MPT DriveHub, an all-in-one mobile application that features three key functions include RFID transactions, trip planning and roadside assistance. MPT DriveHub will be available for RFID users of MPTC’s network of expressway include North Luzon Expressway, Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway, Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway, Cavite Laguna Expressway and Cebu Cordova Link Expressway. – Myla Iglesias
