Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) subsidiary for retail electricity supply MPower has renewed its partnership with JX Metals Philippines Inc. for the energy requirements of the latter’s manufacturing plant in Biñan, Laguna.
MPower said JX Metals has been its customer since 2013. Details of the renewed agreement were not disclosed.
Eddie John Adug, MPower senior assistant vice president and head of retail sales, said JX Metals will continue to benefit from competitively priced renewable energy portfolio in the coming years.
“MPower continues to build up its clean energy supply portfolio by partnering with greenfield RE power plants to meet the growing demand for renewable energy supply in the contestable market,” Adug said.
Beyond power supply, MPower also extends to JX Metals value-adding services made possible through collaboration with Meralco subsidiaries such as MServ, Meralco Power Academy, Radius and Bayad which offers engineering and internet services, among others.
MPower serves contestable customers, including top corporations within Meralco’s franchise area and currently has more than 25 percent share of the competitive retail electricity market within the said area.
