Meralco completes P48.4M upgrade of Novaliches substation

The Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) has invested P48.43 million to upgrade its control house at the Novaliches substation in Quezon City.

Meralco said in a statement yesterday the project involves the replacement of a 44-year-old control house with a new building equipped with a switchgear room to improve operational efficiency and flexibility of the substation.

The company said the facility serves customers in Novaliches, Quezon City and in Caloocan City.

Meralco said the control house contains critical equipment and devices including a 34.5 kilovolt (kV) switchgears, protection relay panels, supervisory control and data acquisition equipment, station service, telecommunications equipment and alternating current/direct current equipment, among others that are essential to the substation’s daily operations.
