Local retail electricity supplier MPower, a unit of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), has renewed a retail supply agreement with ABS-CBN Corp. covering its main buildings in Quezon City.

The parties said in a statement yesterday the partnership assures the supply of electricity at competitive rates.

MPower said ABS-CBN has been a customer when the company started its operations in June 2013.

Under the Competitive Retail Electricity Market, electricity customers that consume a minimum of 500 kilowatts, the threshold set by the Energy Regulatory Commission, may choose their energy supplier based on their specific requirements.

“Our renewed partnership with ABS-CBN reflects our constant dedication to delivering retail excellence and driving growth across diverse business industries,” said Redel Domingo, Meralco first vice president and MPower head.

Meralco declined to state the capacity and duration of the deal saying it is covered by a non-disclosure agreement.
