Locators at the Mactan Economic Zone 2 may be able to extend their stay at preferential lease rates, according to Charito Plaza, director-general Charito Plaza.
Plaza said in a forum for Japanese investors last week the board of the Mactan International Airport Authority (MCIAA) is set to discuss PEZA’s request that lease contracts of MEZ 2 locators be extended by another 25 years with the same lease rate that PEZA is giving its locator companies in MEZ 1.
According to Plaza, said this is good news especially for Japanese locators threatened by the end of their occupancy.
