Megaworld Corp. said it has appointed its current chief operating officer, Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, as its new president.
Gutierrez-Alfonso takes over the former post of tycoon Dr. Andrew Tan, who will remain with Megaworld as chairman of the board.
The appointment comes after Kingson Sian, Megaworld executive director, retired from the company early this month.
Gutierrez-Alfonso, 61 years old, has been with Megaworld since 1990, and currently serves as a director in numerous affiliate companies, including publicly-listed Global-Estate Resorts Inc. and MREIT Inc.
She is also a director of the company and chairs its Board Executive Committee and Management Executive Committee.
“She has extensive experience in real estate and a strong background in finance and marketing,” the realtor said.
Gutierrez-Alfonso graduated cum laude from the Far Eastern University (FEU) in 1984 with the degree of Bachelor of Science major in Accounting. She is a certified public accountant by profession.
