The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) recorded a 4 percent decline in fish unloading volume across all of its regional fish ports last month, attributed to unpredictable downpour of moderate to heavy rains.

PFDA said total fish unloading volume last month hit 56,032.87 metric tons (MT) compared with June’s 58,132.09 MT, the highest record for the year.

Despite the overall drop, the agency said some fish ports recorded an increase in fish unloading volumes.
