President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will revive the Love Bus of the 70s during his administration, with the planed rollout in Cebu and Davao and across Mindanao.

In his 4th SONA, Marcos said the Love Bus, will be made free for the public’s use.

The pilot test for this initiative will begin in Davao,Cebu, and soon after expand across Mindanao.

In Metro Manila, the President said that an additional 45 train set will be deployed at the Metro Rail Transit line 3 (MRT-3) this year from current three new train sets now operational.

Marcos also announced that 2,000 or so public schools without internet access will be connected at the end of the year, and that the government will continue to expand free Wi-Fi services nationwide.

With the completion of Phases 1, 2, and 3 , the National Broadband Backbone Project will help make internet faster and more reliable.

Marcos said his administration is continuing to expand the country’s free Wi-Fi program. In June 2022, there were about 4,000 free Wi-Fi sites. Today, there are nearly 9,000 sites across the country, ” the President said in his SONA.

DICT has begun distribution of over 1 million SIM cards with free data to support the public schools, especially in remote areas.

However, the number is still not enough. Around 2,000 public schools still don’t have internet access. That’s why the DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology) and DepEd (Department of Education) are working hard to make sure that by the end of this year, all public schools in the country will be connected to the internet, he said.
