LOCAL carriers Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines are expanding their domestic operations to meet increased travel demand ahead of the holiday season, the companies said on Wednesday.
Low-cost carrier CEB said it will deploy Airbus A330neo flights to more domestic destinations starting October 26, 2025.
The 459-seater widebody aircraft will operate flights between Manila and Iloilo seven times weekly, and between Manila and Puerto Princesa four times weekly starting November 2, 2025. A330neo flights will also operate between Manila and Bohol seven times weekly beginning November 16, 2025.
“We’re excited to expand our A330neo operations to more Philippine destinations, as this allows us to offer more seats, lower fares, and an even more comfortable travel experience for our passengers,” Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer, said in a statement.
He said increasing capacity to key domestic routes would make travel more accessible, help drive tourism, stimulate economic activity, and further support tourism growth.
CEB is the largest operator of A330neo aircraft in Asia-Pacific, now with a total of 12 aircraft of this kind in its fleet. With the arrival of its latest A330neo aircraft in July, CEB also became the first local airline to operate a 100-strong fleet.
Currently, CEB operates A330neo flights to Cebu, Davao, and General Santos, as well as several international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, flag carrier PAL is expanding flights to Siargao by adding more routes via Clark and Cebu, complementing its existing Manila-Siargao service and improving travel options to the popular island destination.
“Granting Siargao alternative air connections via Clark and Cebu addresses the appeal for air access and encourages local tourism and economic activity,” PAL Express President Rabbi Ang said in a statement. “We are happy to play a leading role in the steady development of Siargao, wherein both the visitors and the residents will prosper due to expanded air transport opportunities.”
Clark International Airport’s location makes it easy to get to from most areas of Luzon, making it an ideal choice for most travelers. Tourists in Metro Manila can also easily access the airport using available transport.
In addition, travelers can take the Manila-Cebu flight and transfer to Siargao. Cebu’s fast and efficient layovers are sufficient to facilitate smooth transfers between flights. This route provides a suitable alternative for accessing the island, making it possible for visitors to have more choices to meet their travel requirements.
PAL’s Cebu-Siargao service is particularly geared towards travelers who want fast access to the island’s surf breaks, pristine nature, and lively community, for a weekend getaway or an extended holiday.
PAL continues to have direct Manila-Siargao flights, which serve local travelers as well as those connecting from international flight routes.
