Lima phase 1 expansion completed by next month

Lima Land Inc. is set to complete phase one of its P5.1- billion expansion in Lima Estate in Batangas.

Clifford Academia, Lima Land vice president for operation, said in a statement yesterday the 47-hectare phase one expansion is 99 percent complete and will be finished by October.

The company is developing 100 hectares of its 749-hectare Lima Estate, positioned as Calabarzon’s next leading economic center in Calabarzon area – Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon – Luzon.

Lima Land earlier said the expansion will generate 20,000 jobs.

Academia said three manufacturing firms are in the process of putting up their facilities in the expansion area and could take 18 months to complete.

“One is a domestic company, it’s an ice cream brand. The other two are Japanese manufacturing companies,” Academia said.

“All expansion will cater to manufacturing companies that will generate jobs,” he added.

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority -registered estate is piloting the Philippine Green Building Council’s Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence  sustainability standard for districts in the country.

Lima Estate is the first industrial estate in the country to receive the accreditation for BERDE-Districts.

PhilGBC developed the BERDE program in 2009 to proactively address the adverse impacts of climate change. The program, which has been recognized by the government, established the country’s own national voluntary green building rating system to facilitate sustainable projects that consecutively aims to inspire confidence and build trust in the property industry.

The Aboitiz Group earlier said the entire estate is anchored on LIMA Technology Center , home to 124 domestic and international locators and about 55,000 employees.
